Life Airmail Stationery (Onionskin)

Founded in Tokyo in 1949 and still made in the city, Life Stationery makes luxurious fountain pen friendly paper in a variety of styles that I absolutely love. This particular paper is inspired by vintage airmail correspondence paper. While it holds fountain pen ink quite well, it’s extremely light and translucent - basically onionskin paper. Most people will use one side of each page, but given how lightweight it is, back in the day you could mail a multi-page letter and still have the postage cost less than a single sheet of heavier stock! (Hence the name and purpose.)

Available only in this topbound notepad format, and pad includes a guide sheet with vertical lines on one side and horizontal lines on the other. Each pad contains 50 sheets of paper. Packages of 10 classic red, white, and blue airmail envelopes also available.
