Yamamoto Ro-Biki Notebooks / Passport Size

The Yamamoto Paper Ro-Biki Note notebooks are best known for their wax paper covers, which actually develop patina over time. In other words, the more you use the notebook, the more crumples and scratches it gets. Yamamoto carefully selected a special paper for this product, which I’ve seen alternately identified as “New Chiffon Cream” or “Soliste”. (I personally think it writes like Soliste, but either way it’s wonderfully fountain pen friendly, with a soft texture.)

Yamamoto Paper uses a thread stitch binding that increases bookbinding strength, allowing you to fold the notebooks back as necessary. These refills are “Passport Size”, which measures 3.5" × 4.9", and will fit notebook covers such as the Passport-size Traveler’s Notebook or similarly sized cover, or the wax paper cover is durable enough to allow you to carry the notebooks by themselves.

These notebooks are available in two series featuring different cover designs: The “Museum Series,” featuring artwork from museums around the world, and the “Shape Series”, featuring modern geometric patterns.
